STAND STILL - stories from set

It was important to me, when making this film, to live by my politics, about diversity and inclusion and access in the industry-even in a small way on a short film shoot. We made sure all HoD meetings included both men and women and we put together an amazingly talented team. And to tackle obstacles to professional access and opportunity, as well as empowering someone regarding the process, we decided on a Directing Mentee position too. As a female director, who came up with a lack of female mentors on the professional shoots I worked on when I started, I wanted to bring an aspiring young female director into the process and along for the ride. (Although shout out to my amazing mentors from film school at nyu grad film -where badass ladies abounded). Thrilled to say that mentee is @ellagracekennedy. A great addition to the team through prep and production, and next we'll be in post and then out into the world with this film! #womeninfilm #mentor #director #film #filmmaker @freethebid @cinesisterslondon #seeitbeit #womendirectors #filmfatales *** #Repost @ellagracekennedy with @make_repost ・・・ A director and her mentee🎬 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ With the shooting of @standstillfilm wrapping yesterday, I want to say a special thank you to the director and my mentor @isabellawingdavey_ ! Having the opportunity to witness a director's process is an extremely personal and inspiring experience. I have learnt so much already and am extremely grateful for the opportunity to grow creatively myself with Isabella's guidance. I look forward to moving into post production and again witnessing Isabella's talents in the directors edit. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This film was written and performed so wonderfully by @michelle_bonnard and @zoetapperofficial and thanks to Isabella will now be visually beautiful, poignant and delivered in such a way that will pay justice to the important themes explored. True female filmmaking at its best!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this incredible film✨⁣ ⁣ #standstillfilm

CINESISTERS help spread the word about THE RAIN COLLECTOR online release

POPDUST interview with Isabella Wing-Davey (about "WAITING" and "The Rain Collector")

I spoke with Andrew Karpan from POPDUST about my 3 minute short film, "Waiting" which is now available online as well as casting, themes and my other work like "The Rain Collector".

"Her work is both impeccably produced and impeccably cast...[Wing-Davey has] "craft[ed] an immaculate filmic style, somewhere in that netherworld between Sofia Coppola's perfectly groomed costumes... and Wes Anderson's penchant for the pastels."

About WAITING: "Within three minutes, Wing-Davey is able to turn the energy of those moving parts into nothing short of a masterpiece of observation, the kind of space that immediately feels populated by real people."

"The Rain Collector" at Athena Film Festival 2017

The Rain Collector is coming to the end of its festival run after a wonderful set of screenings. We're thrilled to be part of Athena Film Festival 2017, bringing the film back to New York in Feb 2017. (Screenings on Feb 11th 2017 and Feb 12th 2017). Isabella Wing-Davey will be in attendance for the Q&As after each screening. It's an amazing festival, showcasing wonderful stories about amazing women, and we're delighted to be representing women in science at the festival.
